About the
Swimming masters team
ABOUT THE CLUB
Pointe-Claire’s Masters Team strives to offer a safe and fun environment that caters to everyone’s needs (physical, social and competitive). The Masters coaching staff will provide up to date training techniques, provide encouragement to their members to push their personal limits and to provide a wide variety of social and competitive events.
HISTORY OF THE CLUB
The Masters program was established in the 1980’s at Pointe-Claire under the supervision of the visionary coach and aquatic director; George Gate. Initially the program was created to offer ex-competitive swimmers a place to continue training and socialize with the swimming community.
Eventually the program expanded to allow adults who had no competitive swimming experience so that they too could learn proper technique, be challenged by sets, and learn how to compete. Not long after that our Masters team started winning provincial and national titles. Over the years,
Pointe-Claire Masters have set numerous provincial, national and world records. Throughout its rich history, Pointe-Claire Masters have travelled all over the world to compete against the best in their sport. We are still dedicated to offering a service to foster a love for swimming for many years to come.
OUR GOALS
Our Goal is to grow membership by offering a service that is inclusive, positive and challenging. We want to develop a culture where swimmers want to foster a competitive spirit. We encourage team unity by offering social activities for its clientele. We aim to be recognized for hosting the most popular “Master’s Meet” in the region. Ultimately, we would like to become provincial and national champions.
