At the end of May, swimmers Mae Waldie (backstroke), Helena Lui (breaststroke), Judie Oliver (butterfly) and Gail Whittaker (freestyle) from Pointe-Claire Aquatic Club’s Masters Swim team, with an average age of 80 years old, beat a world record, winning gold in the 4 X 100m medley relay in their category. The feat took place at the Canadian Masters Swimming Championship, with more than 100 clubs from Canada and the U.S. participating.
